About the Deactivation Process
U-Mail accounts are provided by the University for registered graduates, undergrads, and UCSB Open University students only. If you do not register for a particular quarter (including summer), you will have 13 months to re-register before your account is deactivated.
You will receive six e-mail notifications before your account is deactivated, beginning six months after you've been separated from the University and increasing in frequency until one week prior to deactivation of your account.
Preparing for Deactivation
Google provides the ability to copy content from your U-Mail account to a personal account. Please note, this must be done prior to your scheduled deactivation date. It cannot be done after your account has been deactivated. Follow these instructions to complete the copy.
